"Was a lovely brunch with extended family visiting from Aussie. The food was great and the coffee delicious. Our waiter was fantastic given we had such a big group and a few quirky orders. He was a superstar! The music was quite loud for an early booking though which made conversation a bit of a challenge with a big group. I did ask for a quieter space so we could catch up on our lives. Other than it being very loud it was a good time."

"Lovely dinner spent here with my partner, he had the fish and chips and the lasagna myself. I loved it, really tasty e well balanced in flavours. Friendly and polite staff in a cozy place . Definitely recommend."

"Such a fabulous experience. As a Wellingtonian, SC has the best coffee I’ve had - which surprised even me. The duck donuts were a real standout and one of the nicest dishes I’ve had. The brisket loaded fries were sensational. An amazing experience."

"We celebrated our daughter’s baptism lunch in the Guest Room. Planning with Stephen was smooth and straightforward. Their functions menu fit well within our budget, and the food was lovely, receiving many compliments from our guests. However, the dishes were served one after the other rather than the sides being served alongside the mains, which would have been better. Nevertheless, it was a lovely meal and experience. Almost forgot about the free face painting for kids which our small guests enjoyed."

"Went above and beyond to make our wedding anniversary so special. Staff created a little safe outdoor space away from other patrons (so our health-vulnerable dependent family member wouldn't be put at risk from our very rare night out). There were numerous great safe options for me as a coeliac, and knowledgeable, genuinely lovely, attentive, caring wait staff for whom nothing was a problem, table-flowers and even a complimentary dessert. Ee couldn't rate you highly enough - just beautifully done, Southern Cross. Recommend you to the moon and back, especially for anyone with special requirements. We'll see you next year"

"Came here for lunch on a First Table booking. Our group ordered: *Spiced Duck Wonton Nacho Bowl (duck was slightly overcooked, but ingredients were tasty and worked well, great pineapple salsa) *Vegetarian Nacho Bowl (very tasty) *Chicken Schnitzel with mash, gravy and slaw (huge schnitty, creamy mash and delish slaw). Service was very efficient and quick, nothing to complain about here."
